In film news...
Israel's top general reportedly is boycotting "Beaufort," a critically acclaimed drama about the evacuation of Israeli troops from southern Lebanon in 2000, becuase some of teh actors never served in the IDF. Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, the chief of staff, has refused to see the film in protest that several of its soldier characters are played by Israeli actors who evaded mandatory military service.

and also

please note the COLMA THE MUSICAL.. which is playing around the USA at some fests and being packaged or pitched as an Asian film should be of interest to Jewish audiences, since this fun musical film stars a Jewish character as the second lead character.
